Independent Corrupt Practice Commission (I.C.P.C) CDS GROUP. 

Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Crimes Commission is a body that deals with corruption in all forms. It tries to eradicate that great cankerworm called corruption from the minds of members of the public. To achieve all this we look at teaching the smallest unit of the society: the family. Going to schools to educate young minds why they need not act corruptly be it examination malpractice is one of our core goals.

On November 3, in other to honour the launching of the blog set up by the local government, we were at Rock Foundation, Ogrute, Enugu-Ezike. We (ICPC CDS) talked to the students on *Examination Malpractice* which is a form of corruption.



Definition of Examination Malpractice

Examination malpractice is any form of deliberate cheating on examinations which provides one or more candidates with an unfair advantage or disadvantage. It is illegal and can be perpetrated by a single individual or groups. It can occur outside or inside the classroom.

Forms of exams malpractice

1.Leakage of question papers

2. Collusion between candidates bringing foreign materials into the examination halls.

3. Impersonation

4. Assault and intimidation

5. Collusion between candidates and officials.

6. Hi-Tech practice where students use different types of mini-computers, organizers calculators to code answers, textbooks, lecture notes, earphones, tapes mobile phones. Etc

7. Bribery giving money or gifts to supervisors and invigilators.

8. Sorting

9. Spying

10. Ghost voice malpractice

11. Blocking

  Consequences of Exams Malpractice

- Makes one unable to defend his/her certificate
- Discredits academic institutions and academia
-  Cheapens scholarship and degrades intellectual integrity
- Impedes intellectual progress of the nation
- Affects national growth and productivity
- Facilitates the enthronement of a mediocre, half-baked, incompetent and corrupt workforce.
- Leads to high educational wastage as those who cheat to pass examinations at a lower level achieve very poorly at higher levels
- Rubbishes the standard and quality of educational
standard in any country.
- Reduces the value of our institutions certificates
